SWEDISH WORLD CHAMPION ERIK STARK READY FOR MARC ANTHONYS NEW RACING TEAM IN E1

Updated: Feb 7

Marc Anthony, the Grammy award winning artist has created a new racing team, E1 Team Miami, to compete in the World Championship of Electronic Powerboats in the new E1 class. The first race is run in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 2-3 February 2024 and is fronted by the world champion in boat racing Erik Stark from Sweden and the National Champion in Jet Ski, Anna Glennon from the USA.

The E1 World Championship is the first all-electric powerboat racing series and runs with completely unique electric hydrofoil boats - called the RaceBird. Focused on championing the future of electrification and preserving our waterways, the E1 World Championship is set to deliver a show unlike anything the world has seen before. The inaugural season begins on February 2, 2024 before embarking on a world tour to Venice, Puerto Banus, Geneva, Monaco, Rotterdam and Hong Kong.

- "I am delighted to introduce my E1 drivers and proud to have Erik Stark and Anna Glennon as members of our team. They both have impressive careers and great work ethic. I am proud of their achievements on the field and we are more than ready to bring revolution to the water and offer fans a show they've never seen before." says Team Miami co-owner Marc Anthony.

Erik Stark started his career in boat racing at the age of 12 and is the Swede who has managed to win the most titles in boat racing. Erik still holds the world record of winning four F2 world championships in a row and has been awarded the King's Jubilee Medal. In 2014 he moved to the higher classes, X -Cat, Formula 1 and Class 1 and since 2019 he drives Formula 1 for the Dubai-based Victory Team. In last year's F1H2O World Championship, he finished second.

Anna Glennon will compete together with Erik. Anna is world champion and 8-time American and Canadian champion in Jet Ski. To date, she is the only woman in IJSBA history to win the men's two-stroke WC title.

- "It feels incredibly fun and exciting to be involved from the start and compete in a new WC class. It's something completely different from the speed I'm used to and here lies the challenge of keeping the boat flying over the water. It's going to be fun to see how far we can go and it feels extra good to drive together with Marc, who is a very committed team owner.” says Erik Stark

E1 Team Miami will be run alongside the internationally acclaimed Victory Team, based in Dubai. Victory Team will lead the technical and operational aspects of the team and together with E1 Team Miami, they contribute dedicated leadership, skilled mechanics and performance engineers.
